The COST Association has the pleasure to inform you about the release of the new COST Vademecum.
As you already know, COST turned from the European Science Foundation to a proper COST Association funded through Horizon 2020 Framework Programme.
This new document was necessary following the release of the new set of COST Implementation Rules approved by the CSO in December 2014 and which entered into force on the 1st of January 2015. Additionally to the changes necessary to ensure the compliance of the Vademecum with COST Implementation rules, updates of the text have been done in order to clarify the document. It aims at being shorter, simpler and more user-friendly. Please note that no change of the reimbursement rules has been done.
The new Vademecum is now available

Labelling and Confocal Imaging of Neurons in Thick Invertebrate Tissue Samples
Presenter – Dr. Trevor Wardill
Belfast, Northern Ireland, 21 October, 2014
On 29th January 2015, Dr. Trevor Wardill is going to discuss how to combine new tissue-clearing agents and long-working-distance objectives to develop a three-dimensional neural connectivity atlas of dragonfly ganglia and cephalopod skin innervation.
Full registration and event details will be posted once confirmed, however please click the button below and complete the form if you would like to be automatically registered for this event as soon as registration becomes available.
CephsInAction is pleased to announce the location and timing of the meetings for the 2015!

Cephalopod Culture
represents the first compilation of research on the culture of different cephalopod species and includes the main conclusions which have been drawn from the research and the future challenges in this field.
The 3rd COST Action FA1301 MC and WGs Meeting is scheduled in Napoli (Italy) from October 9 to October 11, 2014.
COST Action FA1301 Management Committee and Working Groups Meetings – Programme
On 9th October 2014 participants will discuss the advancements of the first year of activities of CephsInAction. Focus will be also given to recent results achieved in fields of study relevant to the different tasks and WGs of the Action.
The discussion will allow a better planning of the future work (Friday 10th October, 2014).
The Meeting is also the occasion of a Special Scientific Event “Cephalopod Vision Workshop” (scheduled in the afternoon on Friday 10th October).
On 11th October 2014 (morning) the Management Committee members will meet to define key actions for the 2015, with an eye on a longer plan.
Cephs Biology and Care (CBC2014): The FA1301 Cephs Biology and Care 2014 Training School will cover the practical implications for researchers whose work must comply with Directive 2010/63/EU. In addition, the School aims to help EU based researchers, and other potential users, ‐ such as veterinarians, laboratory animal technologists and regulators ‐ familiarize with best practice in cephalopod maintenance, care and welfare assessment needed for compliance with key aspects of Directive 2010/63/EU, and the underpinning biological information.
